Dox Thrash

Cornish, Samuel:

(1795-1858) African American abolitionist and Presbyterian minister who helped form many of the religious and non-religious groups that opposed slavery (American Anti-Slavery Society, American Bible Society, American Missionary Society, and the Union Missionary Society). Along with John Russworm in 1827, they started Freedman’s Journal, which was the first African American newspaper.
