Day, Thomas:

(1801-1866) A free African American, Day was an active cabinet maker for most of his life. He opened a shop in Milton, North Carolina, and by 1850 was one of the most successful cabinet-makers in the region, selling his goods to wealthy clients in the Carolinas, Virginia, and Georgia.
