Joshua Johnston

Barjon, Dutreuil:

(c. 1799-1854) Master cabinet-maker who was trained by Jean Rousseau. Barjon was considered one of the best cabinet-makers of his time. In 1822 Barjon established his own shop in the French Quarter, New Orleans, and was very successful. His son Dutreuil Barjon Jr took over the shop after Senior got in trouble with creditors. He moved to France and little is known about his life thereafter.
