Quakers:

The Society of Friends was one of the first groups to protest and publicly denounce slavery. The Quakers were established in the mid-1600s and by 1688 the Quakers started the first formal protest against slavery in America. Soon after, the Quakers banned any member from owning slaves.

The Quakers were known for their beliefs and when slave rebellions would happen, Quakers were often spared from being harmed.
