(1892-1962) An sculptor during the New Negro Movement, Savage was a leader in sculpture and created many works of New Negro Renaissance leaders. After attaining a fellowship, Savage moved to Paris and studied under Henry O Tanner and Hale Woodruff. She also became the first African American women to be a part of the National Association of Women Painters and Sculptors.
